Let me share with you two important health updates of the day
A new British study has beautifully answered one of the vexing questions in healthcare today – Is exercise really saving lives? Yes, says this study from researchers at University of Edinburgh and University of Cambridge, and published recently in the medical journal ‘The Lancet Global Health’.
They looked into data from 168 nations, and found out that exercise is preventing premature deaths by 15%, which amounts to 3.9 million lives saved each year. Now, isn’t that very good news? I hope this inspires all of you to exercise daily. My new book, on how to LIVE LONG and STAY YOUNG covers details on how exercise impacts longevity, and how you can have a customized exercise plan based on your genome.
INFANTS FIGHT CORONA VIRUS BETTER THAN ADULTS
A new study from Chicago and published recently in ‘The Journal of Pediatrics’, has shown that newborn babies, up to 90 days of age, and who have tested positive for Covid-19, don’t have serious issues like breathing trouble, and get well eventually, despite having high viral loads. Now, isn’t that a delightful news to cheer you up, especially those of you who are expecting a baby in these trying times?
I think this is also an amazing news as how could the tiny ones have that kind of stunning immunity, something most adults don’t have? This needs to be investigated. I think the unique composition of breast milk & the unique infant metabolism are crucial factors here.
