There is good news for those suffering from anxiety. While we all feel anxious sometimes, only those suffering from habitual anxiety know how difficult it is to cope up with anxious situations. The problem is compounded by the stigma as well as expenses involved in getting psychiatric treatment like therapy or medicines. Not to say anything about the medicines’ side effects.
Now, a new study says aerobic exercise helps reduce anxiety and works like medicines or therapy in many people. And what is more, scientists say just 20-30 minutes of aerobic exercise like walking for 2-3 times a week is enough to reduce anxiety and that it works in different ways including increasing the feel-good hormone serotonin and at the same time, reducing the stress hormone cortisol.
